is Hobby Lobby getting bad publicity justified?

In the news, the Christian affiliated store, Hobby Lobby, is being chastised because it doesn’t sell Jewish holiday decorations because they are a Christian organization associated with the celebration of Christ. Okay? Shall we in turn take-on the Jewish stores, say in New York City, and blacken their eye because all they sell is a menorah and not a Jesus on the cross decorations. As a private enterprise, isn’t it their right to sell the products they want to sell….perhaps we have congress get involved and debate this issue and spend a little more time arguing stuff that really doesn’t make a difference…..oh…it would make a difference if I were Jewish? Or would I just be smart enough to not go to hobby Lobby to buy my Jewish decorations and instead go to a store that does sell them? This isn’t discrimination…this is private enterprise. I don’t expect to go to Farm and home to buy my jewelry nor does he go to Macys for his chain saw oil. Give it a rest people. #hobbylobby doesn’t sell Jewish decorations or perfume, so shop for them somwhere else.

…..and if you dont like what is on TV, change the channel and if you don’t like a book, don’t read it…and if you want to delve into any more of my opinions, please ask.

I used to totally worship the sun. “Laying out” was a daily event when and if possible. While walking along the beach this weekend, I know that if I lived here, I would still be doing it along with all of the others. I think it is a vanity thing but it is also some kind of addiction which will probably kill as much as animal fat, sugar and obesity. I have seen some sun tans here that shocked me.

Folks 50 and over seem to be comfortable in this area. We fit in quite well. The beach population is much older..instead of noticing beautiful young tan bodies skimpily clad, we found ourselves passing old people…very, very tan old people…I started to wonder how much the melanoma death percentages spike because of the tan, leather skin senior citizens in Florida. WOW…

No undefeated Kansas City Chiefs football on TV in Southwest FLA today…no one in our little beach rental is very happy!

Until next time…..

What an awesome experience! Very windy at the beach this morning, but they were doing a shoot with the models and we wanted to be out there…This storm blew up and it was spectacular. He and I decided to watch to see what would happen…what actually happened was we got soaked…it went from windy and dry to windy, wet and cold before you could shout Jack Robinson. I don’t know what jack Robinson is either but I remember it being a saying when I was growing up.

I wonder how delicate the electrical grid is here because we no sooner made it back to shelter before the electricity went off..then I had to endure forced relaxation…pfft.

Walked up to the tourist village for lunch with Jenny, Jax and the photographers wife and daughter and him…the girls brought the kids back and he and I did some shoe shopping….then dodged freeking ugly lizards on the sidewalk on the way back….it’s cloudy, yet bright today and cool…I’m loving the cool.

Until next time…

I have never been a germaphobe. I like things clean and sanitary but I’ve never had the need to cover or hover the toilet seat in a public place. I think kids need germs to build up their immunity. I’ve been irritated listening to a strangers cough, sneeze and mucousy inhale….but I don’t remember having it affect how I live….but….

I’m starting to be freakishly aware of sneezing. Spending time in the airport on Wednesday seemed like an orchestra of sneezing and I wanted to get outta there. The airplane sneezing made me want to don a white face mask for protection….not a full face mask with holes and the fear factor of Halloween…on an airplane, there is only one way to rid the plane of the germs and that is frowned upon by the establishment.

Southwest Florida on november1st is spectacular. The siesta sunset Royale, while not directly on the gulf, is a wonderful place to stay on siesta key … Very affordable and adorable!

It’s also perfect spending time with Jaxon and his mother and father.

Oh and we rented a convertible…I feel young again…well except for this morning that crick in my back after a long walk on the beach yesterday.
