Powell Botanical Gardens and much, much more….

This beautiful botanical gem is 20 minutes from our house.  I messaged Jenny last night to see if there were any botanical gardens or arboretums close by – I wanted to surprise him with a little road trip that I knew he would enjoy.  She hadn’t been to Powell yet but had heard it was amazing so we and she and Jax made a Saturday afternoon trip.  At first I was disappointed that it was cloudy…but the clouds kept it from getting warm and a breeze totally enhanced the visit.  We were there at the perfect time for iris…a week earlier might have been a little better but judge for yourself.

I took so many more pictures of them but thought these were the most beautiful!

We put about 10,000 steps on our fitbits…and not because Jax was navigating:

It is just that big and we didn’t see all of it.

Pictures do not do this chapel justice.  It would make an absolutely wonderful wedding venue!

This would be the background for the bride and groom

Lego sculptures throughout the gardens were amazing…Here’s just a few of them.

This barn is used for crafting and promoting healthy food – horseradish instruction today – the many steps up in the silo provides just one of THOSE views.

  1. That looks like a very kind friendly place. Nice how quickly those steps add up without even trying when you are someplace beautiful with people you love.
