Happiness gently landed on my shoulders

Catharsis

To you:  thanks for your support and thanks for hanging in with me because normally daughters that talk about their mothers in the way I blog about mine, are usually suspect with words to describe them as ‘unappreciative little bitch’…  My rants are cathartic for me and while I don’t like my mother very well…I do have bouts of compassion for her when I haven’t seen her for awhile…I think that says quite a bit…it tells me that her behavior is very bad but I’m still yearning for a loving mother.  Supposedly she is coming home next Wed…we’ll see…

…and under the heading of “I think I’ll keep him for awhile”….

This is what it looked like after I had my idea….

These lights weren’t meant for a kitchen – while they didn’t give off enough light…they also did not have the life expectancy…it was dark!!!  So, I talked him into getting a new kitchen light and putting it up……

I no longer have to use the flashlight in the pantry cupboard.

It is snowing here.  We first got sleet – we were on our way to Des Moines to get Sierra’s meds and decided it was just too iffy so we ended up at Pizza Ranch in Newton for supper and came home.  We now have nearly measureable snow and it is 23 degrees…looks and feels like winter.

Until next time….

  1. I’ve seen that fixture (the blue one) before and I love it but I see how they would be bright enough.  When we moved into our house years ago, the kitchen had one dim bulb.  I had Craig put in a ceiling fan with lights and five recessed spot lights.  I love it now.  I can have certain areas lit or have all of them on.  I like bright lighting.  I’ve been in a lot of kitchens with not enough lighting.  If your working tonight I hope it is a good work night.  Take care!

  3. It disturbs me that the flowers over the sink multiplied.  I love the blue lights, but I can understand why they didn’t work for a kitchen. 😦

  4. I completely understand how you feel about the subject of mothers!Don’t you just love your new light?  It looks great.  My kitchen is old and ugly, but the one nice thing we did a few years ago, was to get a couple of light fixtures like that (the fluorescent tube kind) to replace the 1972  dimly-lit fixture.  It made a world of difference, like it appears yours did!  Kathi
