Sometimes you just gotta laugh, part 2

Mom was on her best behavior…I actually had compassion for her.

Aunt Frances was a holy terror….she didn’t shut up from the minute she was wheeled in the door until the minute she was wheeled out.  I don’t know if she knows that she was the sole owner of every opinion she spouted…I began cringing everytime she opened her mouth.  I’m thankful that I have an understanding husband and extended family…the girls don’t really count..they are in the same miserable place I am…we all have the same blood…..

Next year, I’m going to try to dedicate my Christmas thoughts to the reason for the season.

The holiday is over, I will begin the process of removing decorations tomorrow.  I would do it tonight but am totally unable to function.

Until next time……

  1. The one person in our family who usually goes off was oddly silent and then left early without saying goodbye. It’s funny because to me the holiday is really just beginning.  For me Christmas starts on Christmas Ev and goes to Epiphany and then ends.  That is how it was done when I was growing up.

  2. I undecorated a little last night, and I’m finishing up today.  Not too many needles for as much as there was a tiny black butt in the tree.  The tree is still drinking water.  We had no inlaws or fam. over and no outlaws reared their ugly heads – so all was well.
