One horrible night of storms for Iowa. This 911 dispatcher is starting to be more irritable than normal. Can’t speak for southwestern Iowa which was hit prior to starting my shift, but central Iowa experienced, high wind, storm damage, heavy rain and lots of lightening and a few threats of possible tornados…I’m so spent..I can’t even figure out if tornado has an “e” on the end .. tornadoe..no don’t think so..just call me Dan Quail. For you not old enough to remember..just skip over that part.
Significant rain expected here today, tonight and Friday – the weekend is supposed to be nicer with only 30% change of rain..this reminds me of the floods of 1993..although I don’t remember having one nice day without rain that year. We took the kids on a vacation to investigate Texas and I remember walking into a grocery store and there was a booth set up for donations to help the Iowans with flood damage. That was great, Texas!!
No news to anyone, but Hillary did decide to congratulate Obama and support him in the race against McCain…good fight Hillary…you make us proud.
Whoever is doing the rain dance….STOP IT.

WOW! I hope the system that is causing the storms moves on out! We’re getting t he news of how bad it is out there, all the way out here! Maybe it’ll clear up and dry out for the weekend ? Take Care!

I know what you mean!! We’ve had tons of storms lately, tornado(e) warnings, wires down, flash flooding, water rescues, grass fires from lightning, and on and on. A typical part of springtime here– but it does make one irritable after a while. Hang in there!

WELL SO FAR MY PLACE HASN’T GOTTEN DAMAGED FROM THIS BAD WEATHER BUT IT IS GETTING OLD…….CNN SAID THERE HAS BEEN 1330 TORNADO’S SO FAR IN 08 NOT COUNTING TONOC’S ACTIVITY. AMAZING # isn’t it.hope everythings ok at your place.sorry to hear about your injury sure glad the on firer tree didn’t hit you when it fell as well.having knee problems i know is no fun it can really make life alot harder and take the joy out of things. hopefully in a couple weeks everything will be better. if its not i encourage you to get a mri.it will tell you right away if things are ok or not.laterdeb
