Happiness gently landed on my shoulders

I think Miss Frannie and Miss Sierra enjoyed the visit with their new vet.  They are very friendly girls and were treated like queens.  Nothing specifically wrong with Sierra – we could not smell that sweet icky smell on her – you know that always happens when you go to the doctor or take the car in for repair.  They drew some blood for a senior dog profile which made her very proud.  Frannie on the other hand – left pittles and gushers everywhere she went.  The doc thinks she has a kidney infection but the bacteria didn’t show up on the test – although she says it was very diluted and the PH was off so they are going to assume it is an infection – they think she is probably drinking so much water because of the infection and just can’t hold it all.

Busy Saturday night – been having quite a few motorcycle/deer accidents and tonight – 2 ATV accidents – one was fatal and alcohol was probably the complicating factor.  Was a beautiful day – high in the low 80’s in fact it is only about 60 now at 0335…so I assumed there would not be the consumption of beer which normally occurs on any given hot and muggy Saturday night – but I was wrong and had said it out loud and that is probably what jinxed us.

I’m off until next Friday night – I’ll enjoy the week off but who in their right mind goes back to work on a Friday night…..

Until next time….

  2. my sheltie had another seisure.   we believe it’s heartworm pills related.  This time it was 11 days after the pill.   all the other times it was in single digits.  poor dog, he didn’t rebound as quickly as he normally does.   but he sure did love eating a peach in my arms as the shakes quietly went away.   the last time i took him in to the vets to get a blood sample, for his heartworm test, I guess he got really excited and his blood pressure was up a bit and they had to put a bandage on his poor leg.   My son signed it as if he had a broken leg.  come november we will take him off the pills, we used to keep him on year around.  yes too much water will make them piddle a lot.  plus water flushes the kidneys which is always a good thing.have a great week off.
